Based on pre-release information, Ninja Gaiden 4 is estimated to take 15-20 hours to complete the main story, with additional time for side content and higher difficulties.

While Ninja Gaiden 4 continues the series' legacy, it's designed to be accessible to newcomers. However, playing previous games will give you a deeper appreciation of the lore and characters.

Ninja Gaiden 4 features multiple difficulty levels to accommodate both newcomers and veterans. The game includes an adjustable difficulty system, allowing players to customize their experience.

Ninja Gaiden 4 will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on day one. Standard Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also have access.

Ninja Gaiden 4 features manual save points located at glowing shrines throughout each chapter. The game also has an auto-save system that creates checkpoints after major battles and story events.

  • Save Shrines: Interact with glowing dragon statues to manually save progress
  • Auto-save: Automatic checkpoints after boss fights and cutscenes
  • Chapter Select: Unlock after first playthrough to revisit any chapter
  • Save Slots: 10 manual save slots available

Tip: Save before challenging encounters and use Chapter Select to collect missed items.

Ryu Hayabusa is automatically unlocked after completing the main story (Chapter 14 final boss). Once unlocked:

  • Access Ryu through Chapter Select mode
  • Replay any chapter with Ryu's unique moveset and weapons
  • Ryu starts with the Dragon Sword and has access to 8 total weapons
  • All progression (upgrades, collectibles) carries over between characters
